MOSDA Church History

The Marion Oaks Seventh day Adventist Church was established through faith, prayer, and a deep desire to worship God within the Marion Oaks community.

Our journey began in 2006 when a small group of dedicated believers came together to hold Friday evening worship services at the community center in Hunters Run. Many members lived in Marion Oaks but worshiped at other Seventh day Adventist churches in Ocala. United by a shared vision, the group longed for a church home where they could worship together, grow spiritually, and share the gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ with their families, neighbors, and the broader community.

Throughout this journey, God faithfully guided the church. Doors were opened and closed according to His divine plan. During seasons of both loss and growth, the Lord strengthened the congregation. Though some faithful members went to rest in hope of Christ’s return, God’s grace was evident as the church experienced seasons of growth, welcoming new members and converts into the faith.

The Marion Oaks SDA Church is deeply grateful to neighboring congregations who opened their doors and allowed us to worship during our early years. These included Bethel Baptist Church, Hebron Evangelical Church, and the Assembly of God Church. Their generosity and partnership were instrumental in sustaining our worship and mission.

Today, we stand as witnesses to God’s grace, mercy, love, and provision. We thank Him for allowing us to worship in our current church home and for the continued work He is doing in our congregation and community. All glory and honor belong to God alone.

We have come this far by faith, leaning on the everlasting arms, and keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus.

Seventh-day Adventist Church History

The roots of Adventism can be traced back to the Second Great Awakening, which inspired a spirit of revival throughout the United States in the late 1700s and early 1800s. More people had Bibles in their homes and began to study Scripture themselves rather than leaving that to clergy.

What do Adventists Believe?

Seventh-day Adventists accept the Bible as their only creed and hold certain fundamental beliefs to be the teaching of the Holy Scriptures. These beliefs, as set forth here, constitute the church’s understanding and expression of the teaching of Scripture.

The expression of these concepts help provide an overall picture of what this Christian denomination collectively believes and practices. Together, these teachings reveal a God who is the architect of the world. In wisdom, grace and infinite love, He is actively working to restore a relationship with humanity that will last for eternity.
